Described as “the gayest parliament in the world”, the UK has lesbian and bi representation across the Westminster political divide, as well as in the House of Lords. But with homophobia, transphobia and misogyny entrenched in some of our biggest institutions, how difficult is it to be out in politics? This panel will bring together queer politicians from across the UK to discuss the biggest issues facing LGBTQI women and non-binary people, sharing their own experiences and explaining how they’re using their platforms to further LGBQTI equality.

Michelle Raymond is the Business Development Director at myGwork, a global networking hub and job board for LGBTQ+ professionals and graduates. In addition to being a public speaker and D&I consultant, Michelle is also an accomplished musician who performs under the artist name ‘Michi.’ She has graced the stage with some of the biggest names in music today including Miley Cyrus, Meghan Trainor, DJ Marshmello, Rita Ora, and Carly Rae Jepsen.

Bev Crair leads the combined Compute and Capacity teams for Oracle Cloud Infrastructure as Senior Vice President. Prior to coming to Oracle, she was the Vice President responsible for all product development (servers, storage, networking, software, quality, support and security) for Lenovo's Data Center group. She also was a VP/GM at Intel, and has done stints at Cisco, Sun Microsystems and even Unisys. Bev specializes in organizational design, development and dynamics with a focus on building high performing teams; business strategy and planning, new technology development and implementation. In her spare time, Bev serves as a Trustee with the University of California Santa Cruz Foundation, and spends time on her motorcycle or scuba diving.

Chelsea Ziegler is Co-Chair of the employee-led, SPECTRUM LGBTQ+ community within RS Components. She holds a Masters in Business from Warwick Business School, where she focused on leading and managing change, improving organizational design, and digital collaboration. In her own words, "LGBTQIA+ well-being, outreach, and organizational attitudes toward LGBTQIA+ communities are all topics about which I care passionately. RS has given me the opportunity to raise awareness for those causes within our business by helping to lead SPECTRUM, as well as increase visibility for bisexuals in our community."

Laura Benson is a Global Sales Training Specialist at Finastra where she is also the Project Manager for the company's LGBT+ Employee Resource Group. In her Project Manager role, Laura helps steer various initiatives which ensure that the company continues to foster an inclusive environment where employees can bring their whole selves to work. As a black lesbian of African descent who has lived in African and Middle Eastern countries where it is illegal to be gay, Laura recognises the privilege of now being able to live freely in the UK and she is using that privilege to support members of the LGBT+ community who struggle with homophobia and self-acceptance.

Roshni Hainsworth is the UK Governance Leader at Mercer. In her current role, she supports, develops, and implements strategy in UK Wealth business. Current areas of focus include pension scheme governance, digital initiatives and identifying opportunities to improve stakeholder engagement. Roshni is also a Global Co-Chair for Mercer's LGBTQ+ network.
